The Elliot-Smith is a private, but not for profit clinic, established in 1970. For more than thirty years it has been successfully carrying out male, and latterly, female sterilizations, which are either not available on the National Health Service or are subject to long waiting lists.

Procedure for obtaining an appointment....
You should discuss your problem with your doctor, who will then refer you to the Clinic by letter. We then send you the necessary forms. We do not accept self-referrals.Consultation appointments are normally made 4-8 weeks ahead.

Fees....
The fee covers an appointment of up to 40 minutes, and is payable in advance. The initial payment must be sent with the application form. Please note, if you extend beyond your allocated time, it does inconvenience other patients, and you may be charged for the extra time. If it is necessary, a subsequent appointment will be given at the initial consultation, and a further fee will be due at that time. Clinics are held on Tuesday afternoons.

Payment may be made by personal cheque (ie. Not a business account), and must be supported by a current cheque card. Cheques should be made payable please, to “The Elliot-Smith Clinic”.

A small administration charge is payable to cover additional costs when private health care claim forms are submitted.

Should you postpone or cancel any appointment, 80% of your booking fee is returnable, provided that you give 14 clear days notice. This will enable your appointment to be offered to another patient.
